In the latest development, the axis control function is realized directly in fluidic actuators such as servo, proportional and high-response valves. With the new series of Integrated Axis Controllers IAC-P and IAC-R the control electronics is completely integrated in the valve. The sensors for position and pressure are connected directly to these units.
These intelligent valves communicate with higher-level controls via the field bus interfaces Profibus-DP and CANopen, open up further advantages of decentralized control architectures such as modular machine and control concepts, need no space in the control cabinet and reduce installation and commissioning costs.

IAC-P axis controllers offer the possibility of closed-loop pQ and pressure control and, through differential pressure measurement, a real closed-loop flow control, which is independent of loads or system pressure. The valve characteristic curve required for this is saved in the form of a table in the on-board electronics. Up to 3 miniature pressure sensors can be integrated directly in the valve.

IAC-R axis controllers are provided with the functionalities of closed-loop control of position and pressure, alternating control and an NC functionality for closed-loop position control. It is possible to connect both, analog pressure sensors and a position measuring system with 1Vss or SSI interface.
